36 facts about the Olympic medal count

I was surfing the net when I saw this article written by Chris Chase from Yahoo.news and it says that there are 36 facts about the Olympic medal count, like for example:

  1. China won the most gold medals at the Beijing Games with 51. They become the first country to crack the 50-gold mark since the Soviet Union in 1988. The most golds ever won in a single Olympics is 83 (United States, 1984).
  2. It’s the first time since 1936 that a country other than the United States or the Soviet Union has led the medal count.
  3. China won more golds in Beijing (51) than they did total medals in Atlanta (50).
  4. ‘Project 119′ was a Chinese initiative designed toward winning golds in the medal-rich sports of swimming, track, rowing, kayaking and sailing. Reports are already crediting Project 119 with China’s dominance in the gold medal count, but Chinese athletes won just four golds in those sports. Their total was instead augmented by even better performances in Chinese-dominated events like diving, gymnastics and table tennis.
  5. The United States won the same amount of golds (36) that they did in Athens, continuing a remarkable consistency that the nation has exhibited over the past half-century. American Olympic gold totals since 1952: 40, 32, 34, 36, 45, 33, 34, 83, 36, 37, 44, 38, 36 and 36. (The outlier of 83 was from the boycotted 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.)

There are news around the globe today and news about Olympics 2008 is spreading, like the one I have read today. it says that ” BEIJING - The secret’s out about next week’s Beijing Olympics opening ceremony. Be ready for a dramatic countdown, giant whales, an illuminated globe and performers flying through the air like Peter Pan. A South Korean television crew filmed a rehearsal of the show earlier this week at the massive Bird’s Nest national stadium, leaking the first video from a show so closely guarded that practice sessions have been protected by three rings of checkpoints. Cast and crew were required to sign confidentiality agreements.

A Beijing Olympics official said Thursday the report by South Korean broadcaster SBS, which was then circulated online, was “disappointing.” Sun Weide, spokesman for Beijing’s Olympic organizing committee, would not say whether SBS would be punished, only that officials were “checking into the situation.”

Lately I was on the road of breaking down…I was anxious about everything that surrounds me especially people…I don’t know what to say but one thing is for sure…Precisely people are intended to be respected and not to be disgusted for some people are doing that to me…How to become a good actress telling everybody that I am alright and nothings wrong with me? People that surrounds me are very genuine enough to be treated badly…I hope I am the same with them also…Why should I be affected of what’s going on in here?Am I wrong?Are my perspective in life goes beyond limit?

I guess my mind is now settled…I am just me…Being me…Being myself and that’s the main reason why we exist…

Lately me and my cousin foko are interested in playing guitar although I know how to play already but I was struct by this song that lead me to view its lyrics at www.ultimate-guitar.com and infairness the chords of the song I liked was very easy and I cannot find hard time to play it…hehehe (am I too boastful enough?) even you, can play guitar with chords like this and surely it is very easy…hehehe

Me, Te ann, Jun2 and kuya Ging bonded lately yesterday day, we go to JS and make some "kbuang stuff there" that day is one of a kind…It barely shows that familities are very good example towards unity, peace and love…As I have observe, no matter how other people look at you, you can lean on to your family and it is very sure to know that they will not forget you…no matter what happen, a family that stays together, live forever (waaaaaaa hehehe L♥L’z)

mY hakuna Matata

it was a very wonderful night of my life and i want the world to know how happy i am tonight…

it was 5:00 in the afternoon when i arrived in our house here in Nova Tierra, Lanang Davao City.When i entered the room of my cousin Foko i saw my brother playing NBA live 07 at Foko's computer.Then I suddenly say to him"kuya tara soruy ta dri sa subdivision,sakay ta motor ni papa tapos ako drive", I thought kuya will refuse about my offer but suddenly he said"tara cge",i am so happy when my kuya accepted it. Then tha's it…hehehe sori po mbabaw lng ang kligayahan ko…

hhhhmmmm…..i can't believe that now,,,,,i know how to drive a motor

ahhmmm owkie before i forgot…

hakuna matata is a word that means a lot to me…

its in the movie Lion King…

this word means No Worries…

and most of all,each of us has our own hakuna matata…

it lies within our deepest friendship coz everytime we have true friends beside us…

our hakuna matata was with them…
